4 ARKANSAS LSC SWIMMERS COMPETE AT GCAT GRAPEVINE “A” SHORT COURSE INVITATIONAL IN DALLAS: Grapevine, Tx: 4 of our LSC “A” and above swimmers, all different age groups, represented the state of Arkansas admirably competing against some of the best Dallas had to offer here last weekend at the Grapevine / Colleyville Mustangs Swim Complex. Though no one knew that the 4 of them would be at the same meet, combined all of them scored a total of 105 points which would have been good enough for 16th place among 20 teams. Pickhardt has busy summer BENTONVILLE — Senior Willy Pickhardt hasn’t been able to do too much with his Fayetteville High School cross country team or the Bentonville-based Northwest Arkansas Aquatics swim team because he’s been a little busy with his other team. That’s the USA Triathlon Junior team. Pickhardt (5-11, 135 ) spent the summer training and competing with the national team before competing in the International Triathlon Union (ITU ) World Championships in Lausanne, Switzerland, earlier in August. He earned a spot at the World Championship, where he finished 27 th in the junior division, by winning the ITU Bridgeport (Conn. ) Pan American Cup Triathlon in August. |
